PRogrammed Approach to Knowledge And Sensitization on Hepatitis

Viral hepatitis is a major public health problem in need of an urgent response

Viral hepatitis caused 1.34 million deaths in 2019, a number comparable to deaths caused by tuberculosis and higher than those caused by HIV. However, the number of deaths due to viral hepatitis is increasing over time, while mortality caused by tuberculosis and HIV is declining. Most viral hepatitis deaths in 2019 were due to chronic liver diseases like hepatocellular carcinoma and liver cancer (8,20,000 deaths due to hepatitis B and 2,90,000 deaths due to hepatitis C). Globally, in 2019, an estimated 296 million people were living with chronic HBV infection, and 58 million people with chronic HCV infection.

The classes really enhanced my knowledge not only about viral hepatitis but also about their treatment and vaccination (especially about the booster dose that it should be taken in double quantity of normal dose i.e. 2ml for adults and 1ml to children below 11yrs of age. The learnings received during the program will help me in better catering of the patients. Looking forward to more such classes in future.

Please take more and more classes and thank you for giving nursing officers from outside ILBS opportunity to attend your classes. It is great platform for all of us who don’t get to attend much classes and don’t get opportunity at our workplace due to hectic duty hours and limited people and seats. Thank you so much to all team members and teachers for organizing such a wonderful program.

Got some new knowledge for coinfection of Hepatitis and COVID-19. Some topics were very good. Definitely want to be a part of future online as well as virtual classes. Thanks, ILBS team for putting such an effort to improve our knowledge horizon even in this time of crisis. Boosted up my morale on some topics which were earlier unclear. Thanks a lot, and keep it up.

Ms. Sandhya Yadav

First of all, thank you very much for organising this training program, it was very informative class, especially psychological management. COVID-19 patients are really in a stress full situation because no family members are allowed to meet them. As a health care provider, we should give more importance to the stress management of patients who are suffering from COVID-19. Hope ILBS will organise more training sections on future.
